$84,162 contributed to date, thanks to our generous Avancers!

FUTURE TRAVEL PROFESSIONALS

Empowering hospitality students with financial need

$12,000 donated to the prestigious Dedman School of Hospitality at FSU to start the AVANCE Collective Scholarship. Thanks to our donation, a deserving student will be selected to spend the summer of 2025 studying at a top hospitality school in Switzerland. The program includes not only classes, but also site inspections and cultural visits. A true European immersion for someone who would not have been able to dream of the opportunity without our community’s support. This fall, we’ll be working with the Dean’s office to select the student and welcome them to our amazing Avancer community!

EMERGENCY RELIEF

Distributing funds where needed the most

$10,000 donated to Doctors Without Borders to help with emergency situations over the planet. At their core is a commitment to independence and impartiality. This means that when an emergency strikes, they don't have to write grants or ask for earmarked donations before they respond—they assess the needs, and act fast. Additionally, we’re saving funds to be prepared to help in the case of an unfortunate event occurring that could negatively impact our industry.

$1,500 donated to the Maui Strong Fund to provide financial resources to support the immediate and long-term recovery needs for the people and places affected by the devastating Maui wildfires.

$1,500 contributed to help children and families devastated by flooding in the Philippines. For families who have lost so much, this provision of safe food and water, clean bedding, medicine, first aid and hygiene supplies, and more will make such a difference. Facilitated by Holt International.

$1,500 contributed to the relief effort in the Southeast corner of the US after Hurricane Milton in October 2024. Facilitated by World Central Kitchen.

$1,500 distributed via Water4Wildlife to the people of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe to support them during the 2024 draught.

$500 donated to RiseUp Malawi to support school children in the midst of the record-breaking draught in Southern Africa.

$885 donated to Lovepacs Dallas to fund lunch boxes for school children of the greater Dallas area. Made possible by the generous support of Jetset World Travel.

$8,910 donated to programs across Greater LA in response to the devastating fires of January 2025 via LA Fire Department Foundation, California Fire Foundation, California Community Foundation, Los Angeles Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and Pasadena Humane.

Bonus – Two private Avancers helped us raise funds during their yearly conferences and asked for a portion of their direct contributions to benefit two external charities: Nashville Affordable Housing and the Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation, totaling $7,000. Again, these two exceptions didn’t deduct from our donations, but purely from their own generous funds.

THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY

Benefitting youth crisis services

$12,000 donated to The Trevor Project to go toward program objectives of supporting LGBTQ+ young people in situations of crisis via a phone and text hotline. Our support is creating communities for LGBTQ+ young people to thrive and feel celebrated for exactly who they are. We must keep up this momentum, so that we see a future where no LGBTQ+ young person considers suicide.

Bonus – this donation triggered a partial company match by one of The Trevor Project’s institutional donors, meaning that an additional $8,000 was distributed to the charity as a direct result of our collective’s donation.

UNDERSERVED GROUPS

Providing small-community microloans

$12,000 contributed to microloans via our partner Kiva. After our spring poll within our community of Avancers, most wanted to support projects in education, water & sanitation, and agriculture, in South America, Africa, and Asia. We’ve identified worthy entrepreneurs and distributed funds in 46 loans in 16 countries. We will start sharing their stories in the coming weeks.

Bonus – $8,117 of our microloans have already been repaid, and the funds immediately lent again to other deserving entrepreneurs – this is the microloan effect, and how, over time, we will be able to multiply your gift and help more communities!
